“Maitri” is the practice of unconditional friendliness, loving kindness towards oneself and others.
This training program is an excellent opportunity to evolve aspects of your Self and to assist others in doing the same.
Maitri Breathwork™ was developed in 1991 by Jyoti and Russell Park, Ph.D, Founders of The Stargate Mystery School. This is a transformative process where individuals access non-ordinary states of consciousnessthrough their own breath. The Stargate School invites you to the Maitri Breathwork™ Training Program todeepen your relationship with this form of breathwork and make it available to others. This program isfacilitated by Jennifer Sugarwoman and Dayna Wicks, plus other instructors experienced in this work.
Training is Open to: Graduates of the Stargate School, healing arts practitioners and people who feel a callingto assist individuals in deep transformative healing processes.
Certification Requirements: Completion of all four module intensives, 500 hours of various experientialrequirements with mentor support and assisting at Breathworks.
Location: Kayumari Ranch near Sonora, about 3 _ hours from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The program consists of four intensives where students immerse themselves in both didactic and experientiallearning. The modules include several breathwork sessions, allowing students ample opportunity for hands-on instruction and guidance.
Brief Overview of Modules:
Module I Energy and body awareness; somatic imprinting and somatic processing; resistance work; howto work with subtle energy; self-care; emotional anatomy; working with sexual issues; to intervene or not to intervene; facilitating and managing group process.
Module II The distinguishing aspects of Maitri Breathwork; induction; creating safe container; cleansing and clearing practices; the use of herbs; music curves; Jyoti’s focused bodywork points; theTrust Walk and managing group process.
Module III Medical aspects of non-ordinary state work; psychopathology; screening and contraindications;walking with those in critical physical states; spiritual emergency support; and the ethics ofintimacy.
Module IV Integration; experiential supervision; the use and healing power of drumming; Grof’s bands ofexperience and the Basic Perinatal Matrices; managing aftercare; opportunities to format music;developing your relationship with sacred herbs & marketing your work!
Jennifer Sugarwoman, CMT, is Certified in Maitri Breathwork, is a spiritual teacher, a personal growth and movement facilitator and bodyworker who has Transformative Healing Practices in Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. She has been facilitating Breathworks for the past 12 years, is a teacher of Maitri Breathwork and has been on staff at Stargate School since 1998.
Dayna Wicks, MA in Holistic Health, with a certificate in Addictive Behaviors, is certified in Maitri Breathwork, and has been facilitating breathwork for the past 7 years. Dayna is a counselor, bodyworker, and teacher. She has been weaving her cross-cultural teachings into her healing practice for the past ten years. Addictive behavior patterns, including drug and alcohol treatment and recovery are her specialty.
